Mission Statement
Our mission is to exalt the Savior and to love the people to a great relationship with Christ, that heaven will always be in their view.
God bless you and thank you for visiting Spirit of Praise Church of God in Christ. Our congregation is made up of families of all ages and nationalities. While the world seems to be falling apart, we are thankful that God’s divine hand is upon us.
Our purpose is to share with all who are open to the miracle-working power of God and the blessings that he is bestowing upon a people who are called by his name. Our endeavor is to reach out to the oppressed, the sick, and the downtrodden and to let them know that the only hope that we have is found in Jesus.
Spirit of Praise is a very caring congregation that strongly believes in reaching out beyond themselves to spread and apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ to transform their lives for the better. Here you will find a warm welcome and ample opportunity to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. I am very pleased to be able to pastor such a great people of the Lord, and we welcome you to come and join us, as we experience the manifested glory of God and His bountiful power is revealed unto us to destroy the works of the enemy of God and the people that love the Lord.
PASTOR
SAMUEL A WYATT
Samuel A. Wyatt was saved at the age of thirteen at the Mount Olive Church of God in Christ in Davenport, Iowa. He received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at Pentecostal Temple under the leadership of Bishop Isaac King Jr.
He married the lovely Missionary Esther Lee Wyatt in 1969 and God blessed this union with three children, and grandfather to four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
After the homegoing of the late Supt. Gasoway Benning, Pastor Wyatt was appointed Pastor of the House of Freedom COGIC in March of 1993 by Bishop John Henry Sheard. God uses Pastor Wyatt in the gift of healing and as the spirit of God leads in the gift of prophecy. In 2006, God gave Pastor Wyatt Spirit of Praise as the new name for this great ministry. As Pastor Wyatt sees the present state of our world, he firmly believes that the only hope we have is in Jesus. You are invited to come and experience the mighty move of God. Hello, My Dear Sisters:

In times like these, women have an awesome responsibility for the building of our communities. If you are single, divorced, widowed, separated or married, we all stand in need of our God. It is my belief, that there are four components that will make each one of us and our families: the Home – the Church – the School – the Community. If each component has a 25% value, if one component is missing the worth is only 75%. In some areas of life, 75% is failing.

I invite you to be a part of the mighty move of God! The Spirit of Praise Church has divisions of ministry for the babes to the senior Saints. If you have children or know of those we can help, bring them to the Spirit of Praise. There are many times when the Saints can see potential in children that the parents may have overlooked because of the challenges of “raising the children”.

We have a reputation for being a great Church Family with so much love. Our prayer is just for you to come to visit and you will want to be a part of the family of God at the Spirit of Praise Church. A Church where you will be missed when you are absent and everyone will know your name!
