Memorial Scholarship
The SUPERINTENDENT GASOWAY BENNING MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP was created to assist members of Spirit of Praise Church of God in Christ in post-secondary education. Administrative Assistant, Pastor Samuel A. Wyatt was inspired to develop the scholarship program in memory of our founder, Supt. Gasoway Benning.
Our Founder
The late Founder Superintendent Gasoway Benning was inspired to start his ministry House of Freedom COGIC in September 1956.
Our Purpose
Vision:
In honor of our Founder, Supt. Gasoway Benning, it is the vision and desire of Pastor Samuel A. Wyatt to invest in our students beyond high school and to help provide access to new opportunities.
Mission:
To encourage and provide financial support to active members of Spirit of Praise Church of God in Christ seeking to attend an accredited college or vocational school through the Supt. Gasoway Benning Scholarship fund.
